how the rubber tapped and processed

peeps!! hyee!! i want to share with you what i have read at the library just now.. it is about the process of rubber tapped..


tapping of rubber is done early in the morning, as the rubber latex flow more easily when the weather is cool rather than when hot.. latex is a milky fluid contained cells beneath the outer bark of the rubber tree.. the latex is obtained from the tree by tapping that is cutting off a thin shaving of the bark about 2 mm thick. te cut is slanted so that the latex can flow into the cups.. it is only about 2 mm deep so as not to damage the tree.. the  cup contains a small amount of ammonia. this prevent the latex from coagulating. the tapper returns a few hours later and collects the latex.. when all the cup have been emptied , the filled containers are taken to a processing centre..inside the factory, a chemical called a stabilizers is added.. then the latex poured into shallow metal containers.. when the latex has dried, they are removed as sheets from the containers..
